Circa: 1817 Size: 2 7/8" - 7.3cm tall. Manufacturer: No makers mmarks. An unusual 1817 applied relief mug produced during the reign of King George III. Princess Charlotte was the only child of the Prince of Wales (Later King George IV) and her death during child birth changed the line of succession (Charlotte being second in line the child would have been third). This led to William IV succeeding followed by Victoria. To the left of the handle a woman and a dog at tomb side. On the right a lion and a child. The center shows the Prince of Wales feathers with a crown above and a lion and unicorn below. This interesting mug has a small flake chip restoration now slightly discolored with age on the outer rim otherwise in excellent condition.
