A polychrome enamel tea bowl celebrating the Treaty of Amiens and the end (temporarily) of the hostilities between France and Britain. To the left of Britannia is Victory holding a palm frond and seated to the right is France with a staff and Liberty Cap (A symbol of the French Revolution). In good condition for its age with 3 tiny spots on the rim glaze possibly in manufacture and a small spot loss of glaze on the inside with the usual glaze crazing. |
