c.1802 KING GEORGE III PEARLWARE TEA BOWL - TREATY OF AMIENS. A polychrome enamel tea bowl celebrating the Treaty of Amiens and the end (temporarily) of the hostilities between France and Britain. To the left of Britannia is Victory holding a palm frond and seated to the right is France with a staff and Liberty Cap (A symbol of the French Revolution). In good condition for its age with 3 tiny spots on the rim glaze possibly in manufacture and a small spot loss of glaze on the inside with the usual glaze crazing.

c.1821 QUEEN CAROLINE c.1821. An 8 ˝" Ridgeway Plate. A good clear portrait of Queen Caroine wearing a trademark feathered hat. It has an shaped edge with a cobalt blue and white border. An unusual feature of this plate is that there was once a title below the portrait. However the political situation was such it was deemed diplomatic to remove her name so that users were not offended. Other pieces of this dessert set are known also with the title removed. This rare plate is in excellent condition with a certain loss of glaze beneath the portrait.

1822 VISIT OF KING GEORGE IV TO SCOTLAND. An 1822 Medallion of good quality die-struck in white metal commemorating the historic visit of King George IV of Great Britain to Scotland. The pageantry of the splendid visit to Edinburgh was choreographed by Sir Walter Scott, and marked the return of "North Britain" to an honored place in the Union, two generations after the 1745 Jacobite Revolt. The obverse with a fine bust of the King, and the signature of the sculptor "BAIN. F. EDINR." and the Edinburgh jeweler and medallist who commissioned the piece "F & S DIRECT". The reverse depicts the scene below Edinburgh Castle of the female figure of Scotia presenting King George with the crown as the King of the Scots and Scotland, with a Latin inscription commemorating the historic visit. Some wear but in good conditon.

1817 PRINCESS CHARLOTTE DISH. Princess Charlotte was the only child of the Prince of Wales (later King George IV). She was second in line of succession to the British Throne and had she lived would have taken the throne in place of Queen Victoria. She married Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg in 1816 and tragically, died in childbirth on November 5th, 1817. The decoration shows the allegorical figures of Britannia and Faith mourning at the tomb of Princess Charlotte. This 8" dish/bowl with luster trim is in good condition with a little expected wear but no chips, cracks or restoration.
Size: 8" diameter x 1 3/8" deep. 20.2cm x 3.5cm.

1817 PRINCESS CHARLOTTE MEMORIAM MUG. An unusual 1817 applied relief mug produced during the reign of King George III. Princess Charlotte was the only child of the Prince of Wales (Later King George IV) and her death during child birth changed the line of succession (Charlotte being second in line the child would have been third). This led to William IV succeeding followed by Victoria. To the left of the handle a woman and a dog at tomb side. On the right a lion and a child. The center shows the Prince of Wales feathers with a crown above and a lion and unicorn below. This interesting mug has a small flake chip restoration now slightly discolored with age on the outer rim otherwise in excellent condition.

Size: 2 7/8" - 7.3cm tall.

RARE c.1831 KING WILLIAM IV AND QUEEN ADELAIDE PLATE. This plate was issued around the time of the Coronation of William IV in 1831. The molded rim portraits of King William IV and Queen Adelaide are hand-enameled. One of a series of plates issued with a variety of decorations in the center. The red-brown transfer print is decorated in green and yellow and entitled, "The Hen in the Flower Garden". In sound condition for a piece over 175 years old with no chips or cracks. There is wear to the rim, all over crazing with some discoloration. For similar plates see ‘Victoria Remembered’ by John May page 11.

c.1837 RARE FIGURAL SPIRIT FLASK WITH MISNAMED PORTRAITS OF QUEEN VICTORIA AND HER MOTHER THE DUCHESS OF KENT. A very unusual misnamed treacle glaze stoneware spirit flask produced about the time of the Accession to the throne in 1837. One side has a profile of Queen Victoria misnamed The Duchess of Kent and the other a hatted portrait of The Duchess of Kent entitled Victoria. The mouth of the flask shows a bewigged gentleman (Possibly Lord Melbourne, the Prime Minister at the time). 7 1/2" high in very good condition with a tiny loss of glaze on the base edge. 1897 QUEEN VICTORIA DIAMOND JUBILEE BOWL. A nice 2 handle bowl by the Staffordshire firm of William Lowe 1874-1930. 2 banners read "Empress of India" and "Queen of an empire on which the sun never sets". Flags and flowers of the realm. Some loss of the dark blue color on the flags with age. The usual light wear and light crazing. A little discoloring on the back only. Overall in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. See all Pictures.
