PORTRAIT TILE OF SIR AUSTIN CHAMBERLAIN 1863-1937. British statesman and member of the most famous political family of their day. His father was Joseph Chamberlain and his half brother was Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. In good condition with usual light age crazing and wear.

Leader of the Liberal Party after 1867, Gladstone changed the role of government in England.

1845 REPEAL OF THE CORN LAWS JUG. A c.1845 JUG MARKED ‘OUR BREAD UNTAXED’ AND ‘OUR COMMERCE FREE’ SUPPORTING THE REPEAL OF THE HATED CORN LAWS WHICH RESTRICTED THE IMPORT OF CHEAPER WHEAT AND CORN. THE CORN LAWS WERE SUPPORTED BY THE WEALTHY LANDOWNERS WHO STILL CONTROLLED PARLIAMENT. IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH MINOR WEAR TO THE HANDLE AND TYPICAL LIGHT ALL OVER CRAZING.

Austin Chamberlain, 1863-1937 the eldest son of Joseph Chamberlain MP, and the brother of Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain . Chancellor of the Exchequer 1903-06. Foreign Secretary 1924-1929. First Lord of the Admiralty 1931. Very good condition.

1909 PARIAN BUST OF LORD BURTON ( BASS ALE ). Michael Arthur Bass, 1st Baron Burton of Burton-on-Trent and of Rangemore 1837-1909, brewer (Bass ale etc.) and benefactor. An 7 1/2" parian named bust of Lord Burton. Rear inscribed 'H & L'(Hewitt & Leadbeater) and 'A.Willis Sculpt'. Dated Feb 25th 1909. In good very condition.
