1929 TIN BOX PRINCE EDWARD VISIT TO NORTH EAST COAST EXHIBITION. A very unusual tin box for the 1929 visit of the Prince of Wales (Later King Edward VIII) to the North East Coast Exhibition in Newcastle-upon Tyne. Good color graphic of the exhibition with inset of the prince in a top hat. Graphic with good minor scratches. Wear to the edges and inside. No dents and the lid fits well. See all pictures.

The Great Exhibition of 1851 was housed in The Crystal Palace which was a cast-iron and glass building originally erected in Hyde Park, London. There were over than 14,000 exhibitors from around the world in the Palace's 990,000 square feet. Designed by Joseph Paxton, the Great Exhibition building was 1,851 feet (564 m) long, with an interior height of 128 feet (39 m). In 1854 after the exhibition, the building was moved to an area of Sydenham in South London, (Later called Crystal Palace) where it stood until 1936 when it was destroyed by fire.

CRYSTAL PALACE CUP. A late 19th century china cup showing the front view of the Crystal Palace. In good condition with a tiny 3mm crack in the rim which appears to be from the time of manufacture and wear to the rim gilding.

There were over than 14,000 exhibitors from around the world in the Palace's 990,000 square feet.
