c.1863 PRINCESS ALEXANDRA - ABC PLATE
A rare ABC or alphabet plate from the time of her wedding to the Prince of Wales (Later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra). The portrait is surrounded by flowers of the union above the Prince of Wales feathers. The plate has the entire alphabet molded around the rim. In very good condition with typical age crazing. A nice plate with no chips, cracks or restoration.
Circa: 1863

PUNCH & JUDY ABC PLATE. c.1905.
7 1/4" ABC (Alphabet) plate c.1905.
The plate features Punch, Judy & dog characters from the Punchinella puppet show (dating back to 17th century). Full alphabet around the rim. For a similar ABC plate see Gifts for Good Children (Vol 1) by Maureen Batkin #623. This "Punch" pattern plate was made by Charles Allerton & Sons, Staffordshire, England very early 1900's.

A good transferware hand colored ABC (Alphabet) plate with raised "ABC" rim. Picturing women and children in a cotton field and titled "Gathering Cotton". Some wear to the edges and a tight 1" hairline at the letter "B". Overall in quite good condition for its age.
