c.1936 ROYAL DOULTON WHISKY JUG OF THE 1830 GEORGE IV JUG. A rare whisky jug being a good replica of the 1830 King George IV memoriam jug by Royal Doulton. A portrait of King George IV on one side and inscription ‘To the memory of his late majesty….’ with dates on the reverse. The side has the royal coat of arms and inscribed ‘With the compliments of "King George IV" Old Scotch Whisky'. The base has the Royal Doulton mark and the impressed number 8141. See all pictures. In very good condition with very light age crazing.

A HARD TO FIND AND UNUSUAL DUAL COMMEMORATIVE FOR BOTH 1937 GRAND NATIONAL (A MAJOR BRITISH HORSE RACE) AND THE CORONATION OF KING GEORGE VI IN THE SAME YEAR. A LARGE (5 1/2" TALL) ROYAL DOULTON TANKARD. IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. The back has the race winner "Royal Mail" and additional race information. The Royal Doulton backstamp on the base along with impressed number 7119AN.

An angel holds a plaque reading "Intemperance is Ireland's bane, England's curse and Scotland's woe". An eye looks down from above. In very good condition with a little age crazing. For a similar plate see "Gifts for Good Children" 1790-1980 by Noel Riley #1053.
