19th CENTURY TEMPERANCE CUP AND SAUCER.
The Temperance crest has a man and woman either side, holding flags reading ‘Sobriety brings Domestic Comfort‘. Above is an oak tree with a banner reading ‘Firm as an Oak'. Below the shield, is written ‘Be Thou Faithful Unto Death‘. In good condition with a a glaze flake under the cup and some age wear to the cup rim otherwise very clean.
Circa: 19th cent
Size: 5 1/2" saucer.
Manufacturer: No makers marks.

1909 PARIAN BUST OF LORD BURTON ( BASS ALE ).
Michael Arthur Bass, 1st Baron Burton of Burton-on-Trent and of Rangemore 1837-1909, brewer (Bass ale etc.) and benefactor. An 7 1/2" parian named bust of Lord Burton. Rear inscribed 'H & L'(Hewitt & Leadbeater) and 'A.Willis Sculpt'. Dated Feb 25th 1909. In good very condition.
