1914 THE PRINCESS MARY W.W.I. BRASS CHRISTMAS GIFT BOX.. A special fund was created by Princess Mary, the 17 year old daughter of King George V and almost £200,000 was donated to send the troops in W.W.I. a special Christmas gift box designed by Adshead & Ramsey. The contents varied but most contained 20 cigarettes, a pack of tobacco, a Christmas card and a picture of the Princess. This solid brass box has an embossed profile of Princess Mary, the allies and the date on the lid. In good condition with expected wear. Opens and closes tight with good hinge. See pictures.

RARE LITHOPHANE CUPS - KING GEORGE V & QUEEN MARY with VON HINDENBURG A very rare and unusual pair King George V and Queen Mary LITHOPHANES (Hold base to the light to view portraits). On the front of each is a portrait of Gen-Field Marshall Von Hindenburg above an Iron Cross dated 1914 surrounded by guns, cannons and the German flag. He appears to be wearing his Pour Le Merite (Blue Max) which was awarded to him in Sept 1914. What possible event could have warranted issuing cups with George V and Queen Mary lithophanes in the bases and Von Hindenburg on the front? If you have any information please let us know. c.1900 BOER WAR PLATE LORD ROBERTS. A good color portrait of Boer War General Lord Frederick Roberts in a red military uniform. Field Marshal Frederick Sleigh Roberts, 1st Earl Roberts, VC, KG, KP, GCB, OM, GCSI, GCIE, PC (30 September 1832 – 14 November 1914) was a distinguished Anglo-Irish soldier and one of the most successful commanders of the Victorian era. In good condition with the usual light wear and crazing.

BOER WAR PLATE GENERAL JOHN FRENCH. John French 1st Earl of Ypres (1852-1925)British cavalry leader during the Boer War, later commander of the British army during the First World War to December 1915. In very good condition.

LORD KITCHENER OF KHARTOUM JUG. A figure head jug with hand painted brown military uniform. No chips or cracks but overall age crazing and a small discoloring to tip of nose. An unusual piece. No makers marks.

c.1900 COL. BADEN POWELL BOER WAR PIPE. Named Baden Powell on the stem with the registration mark for 1900. This unusual pipe has some small chips and a repair on the stem behind the shoulder. See all the photos.

1919 WORLD WAR I PEACE MUG WITH SIR DAVID BEATTY'S SIGNAL. An interesting 1919 Peace mug with Britannia and flags of the allies. On the back Sir David beattys Historic Signal "The German flag is to be hauled down at Sunset to-day, and is not to be hoisted again without permission". In good condition.

c.1916 WORLD WAR I ALLIED UNITY PLATE by W.H.GOSS. An interesting plate with a border of 8 hand colored flags of the allied nations. A center Lion of Flanders (Commemorating the heroic stand of Belgium)surrounded by 'Unity makes Strength'. The rear has the mark of the English maker W.H.Goss and 'Depose - F.B.den Boer Middelburg 1916'. The attached metal wall hanger appears to have been made at the time. Some wear to the center black color otherwise in excellent condition.

WORLD WAR I A-Z HANDKERCHIEF. An unusual rhyming A to Z handkerchief which includes mention of Dreadnoughts, Jellico, Kitchener, Submarine and the Zeppelin. A small stain next to the word Indians and very minor age discoloring but overall in very good condition. See all photos.

GENERAL LORD KITCHENER OF KHARTOUM - BOER WAR - WORLD WAR I. Lord Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916)
A distinguished military career mostly in Africa (Egypt, The Sudan and The Boer War) and served as Secretary of State for War at the outbreak of World War I. In good condition with the usual wear the rim gilding.

1916 GENERAL SMUTS SILK GODFREY PHILLIPS CIGARETTE PANEL FRAMED . GENERAL SMUTS. (1870-1950). Veteran of the Boer War, WWI and WWII. He was twice premier of South Africa. A 9" x 7 1/2" frame containing a Godfrey Phillips Cigarette silk panel from the 1916 Great War Leaders and Celebrites Series. Some light foxing. Back of frame stamped Pieter Oosthuizen.

1919 WORLD WAR I PEACE PLATE. A FINE PLATE BY THE NEW CHELSEA PORCELAIN CO. SHOWING DOVES AND AN ANGEL WITH AN OLIVE BRANCH ABOVE ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL. FRONT MARKED 'ENGRAVED BY H.FENNELL'. GOOD CONDITION SLIGHT AGE CRAZING ONLY ON THE BACK.

WWI ARCADIAN CRESTED CHINA FIGURE - NURSE EDITH CAVELL, Crest of the City of London on the front base. 6 1/4". Nurse Cavel as shot by the Germans in Brussels for helping the allied soldiers escape. Excellent condition.
