RARE LITHOPHANES CUPS - PAIR KING GEORGE V & QUEEN MARY WITH PAUL VON HINDENBURG. A very rare and unusual pair King George V and Queen Mary LITHOPHANES (Hold base to the light to view portraits). On the front of each is a portrait of Gen-Field Marshall Von Hindenburg above an Iron Cross dated 1914 surrounded by guns, cannons and the German flag. He appears to be wearing his Pour Le Merite (Blue Max) which was awarded to him in Sept 1914. What possible event could have warranted issuing cups with George V and Queen Mary lithophanes in the bases and Von Hindenburg on the front? If you have any information please let us know. c.1914 WORLD WAR I VASE WITH PORTRAITS OF THE CZAR & KING GEORGE V. Sepia portraits of The Czar, King George V, The President of France and The King of the Belgiums surrounding the royal coat of arms. Over a banner reading ‘Unity is strength'. In very good condition.

GENERAL DEBENEY FRENCH WWI PLAQUE. An interesting unglazed pottery plaque with raised portrait of General Debeney a French general during the First World War. Rear marked 'Bourg Firenze'. 2 small chips on front top edge. See all photos.

LORD KITCHENER OF KHARTOUM JUG. A figure head jug with hand painted brown military uniform. No chips or cracks but overall crazing and a small discoloring to tip of nose. An unusual piece. No makers marks.

GENERAL LORD KITCHENER OF KHARTOUM - BOER WAR - WORLD WAR I. Lord Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916)
A distinguished military career mostly in Africa (Egypt, The Sudan and The Boer War) and served as Secretary of State for War at the outbreak of World War I. In good condition with the usual wear the rim gilding.

1919 WORLD WAR I PEACE MUG WITH SIR DAVIDS BEATTY'S SIGNAL. 1919 Peace mug with Britannia and flags of the allies. On the back Sir David beattys Historic Signal "The German flag is to be hauled down at Sunset to-day, and is not to be hoisted again without permission". In good condition.

1918 WORLD WAR I PEACE BEAKER. A good bone china beaker with Britannia, cannon, war ships and a biplane surrounded by flags of the allies. The rear has the coat of arms of the town Burgus Newbury. Made by Ford and Pointon. In very good condition.

WORLD WAR I A-Z HANDKERCHIEF. An unusual rhyming A to Z handkerchief which includes mention of Dreadnoughts, Jellico, Kitchener, Submarine and the Zeppelin. A small stain next to the word Indians and very minor age discoloring but overall in very good condition. See all photos.

1906-1922. BRITISH BATTLESHIP WWI. H.M.S.DREADNOUGHT A continental china mug of small size. Base impressed 278. H.M.S. Dreadnought (Battleship, 1906-1922) served as Flagship of the Home Fleet 1907-1912 and remained part of that fleet. Dreadnought served with the 4th Battle Squadron in the North Sea during the first two years of World War I. On 18 March 1915 she rammed and sank the German Submarine U-29. The once-revolutionary warship was sold for scrap in 1922. Excellent condition with a tiny flea bite to the base.

1919 WORLD WAR I PEACE MUG GIVEN BY SAMUEL SAMUEL M.P. A 1919 mug given by Samuel Samuel M.P. 'To commemorate the great victory of the British Empire'. No makers marks. In good condition with no chips or cracks only light age wear to the handle and rim.

SIR DOUGLAS HAIG (FIELD MARSHALL HAIG) BRASS CASTING. A good flat brass casting of Sir Douglas Haig. Rear stamped T Smith and the letter 'S'. In excellent condition. The Right Honorable Field Marshal Douglas Haig, 1st Earl Haig, 1861 - 1928 a British soldier and senior commander during World War I. He was commander of the British Expeditionary Force during the Battle of the Somme and the 3rd Battle of Ypres. Very good condition.

c.1916 WORLD WAR I ALLIED UNITY PLATE by W.H.GOSS. An interesting plate with a border of 8 hand colored flags of the allied nations. A center lion surrounded by 'United we stand' in French and 'In unity' in Dutch. The rear has the mark of the English maker W.H.Goss and 'Depose - F.B.den Boer Middelburg 1916'. The attached metal wall hanger appears to have been made at the time. Some wear to the center black color otherwise in excellent condition.
