Named color portrait of Admiral Sampson with American flags. ADMIRAL WILLIAM SAMPSON 1840 – 1902 was a United States Navy admiral best known for his 1898 victory in the Battle of Santiago de Cuba during the Spanish-American War.Generally in good condition with a not very noticable rim chip at about 10 O'Clock and wear to the gilding. Back inscribed with the retailer R.H.Macy.

Picture of The Maine with caption 'Remember the Maine'. Very good condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Some minor wear to the outer rim glaze and light all over crazing consistent with the age.
