c.1802 KING GEORGE III PEARLWARE TEA BOWL - TREATY OF AMIENS. A polychrome enamel tea bowl celebrating the Treaty of Amiens and the end (temporarily) of the hostilities between France and Britain. To the left of Britannia is Victory holding a palm frond and seated to the right is France with a staff and Liberty Cap (A symbol of the French Revolution). In good condition for its age with 3 tiny spots on the rim glaze possibly in manufacture and a small spot loss of glaze on the inside with the usual glaze crazing.

1878 CUBA - SPAIN. ARSENIO MARTINEZ de CAMPOS. RARE PLATE WITH NAMED PORTRAIT OF GENERAL ARSENIO MARTINEZ DE CAMPOS 1831-1900. MADE IN ENGLAND BY ADAMS WITH REGISTRATION MARK FOR 1878. Arsenio Martinez Campos ruled Cuba for the Spanish empire prior to the Cuban War of Independence. The war was coming to an end, but an agreement had not yet been reached. Martinez Campos tricked the Cuban revolutionaries into signing the Pact of Zanjon on February 10, 1878, which promised the Cubans many reforms and concessions that the Spanish did not honor. He returned to Spain in 1878 and became prime minister. In good condition with usual minor wear and light crazing. There is an 1/2" surface crack and small hairline on the rear rim only and does not show on the front.

c.1941 WINSTON CHURCHILL MATCH BOX COVER. A very interesting match box cover the front showing 'The Prime Minister' 'Mr Winston Churchill'. The back has his message to President Roosevelt Feb 9th 1941 'Put your confidence in us........Give us the tools and we will finish the job". The top has President Roosevelt's reply "Britain needs ships ......They shall get them". Very good condition minor staining no rusting. See all pictures.

c.1941 PARAGON PATRIOTIC SERIES CUP & SAUCER - PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT. A bone china cup & saucer with a named portrait of President Franklin Roosevelt in the cup. Bottom of both pieces are marked 'PARAGON' with double warrants from 'HM THE QUEEN & HM QUEEN MARY' and 'PATRIOTIC SERIES PRODUCED DURING THE WAR OF BRITAIN'. Excellent condition. See all pictures.

1852 BRONZE BUST THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON by BARON CARLO MAROCHETTI. A c.1852 bronze bust of the Duke of Wellington by Baron Carlo Marochetti Italian(1805-1867). In classical robes on an integral socle base, signed and dated on the back. Baron Carlo Marochetti of Vaux (1805-1867) lived and studied in Italy before moving to Paris 1n 1832. Here he created a panel representing the Battle of Jemappes for the Arc de Triomphe. In 1848 he moved to London and became a favorite sculptor of Queen Victoria opening his own foundry where he produced numerous major works for around England and Europe including the lions around Nelson’s Column, the Albert and Victoria Tomb, Windsor (Victoria only placed there in 1901) - also at St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, in front of the Palace of Westminster and the Louvre, Paris.

Viscount Wolseley,Garnet Joseph Wolseley, 1st Viscount, Baron Wolseley of Cairo and of Wolseley. British field marshal who saw service in battles throughout the world and was instrumental in modernizing the British army. The usual missing glaze on the edges and a tiny chip on the back bottom corner. See all photos.

LT. GEN. SIR GEORGE WHITE BOER WAR LOVING CUP. Lieutenant General Sir George White V.C. 1835—1912 was commander of the forces in Natal during the opening of the Second Boer War and commanded the garrison at the Siege of Ladysmith 1899–1900. In good condition . Color portrait in red military uniform. In very good condition.

1899-1920 2nd BOER WAR PLATE MAJOR GENERAL JOHN FRENCH. A reticulated porcelain plate for John French 1st Earl of Ypres (1852-1925)British cavalry leader during the Boer War, later commander of the British army during the First World War to December 1915. In 1899 he was promoted to Major General and commanded the 1st Cavalry Brigade with which he took part in the Second Boer War 1899–1902, notably commanding the troops that relieved the Siege of Kimberley. He featured prominently too in the subsequent Battle of Paardeberg. In 1902 he was promoted to Lieutenant General - dating this plate 1899-1902. In very good condition.

LT. GEN. SIR GEORGE WHITE VC BOER WAR WALL PLATE. Field Marshal Sir George Stuart White VC, GCB, OM, GCSI, GCMG, GCIE, GCVO,1835—1912. c.1900 BOER WAR PLATE LORD ROBERTS. A good color portrait of Boer War General Lord Frederick Roberts in a red military uniform. Field Marshal Frederick Sleigh Roberts, 1st Earl Roberts, VC, KG, KP, GCB, OM, GCSI, GCIE, PC (30 September 1832 – 14 November 1914) was a distinguished Anglo-Irish soldier and one of the most successful commanders of the Victorian era. In good condition with the usual light wear and crazing.

MAJOR-GENERAL BADEN-POWELL BOER WAR PLATE. WALL PLATE c.1901-1907 FOR MAJOR-GENERAL BADEN-POWELL FOUNDER OF THE BOY SCOUTS. Baden-Powell was promoted to Major-General in 1901. A rank he held until 1907 when he was promoted to Lieutenant-General. In good condition with a small chip to the glaze on the rear hanging hole and some all over age crazing.

c.1855 CRIMEA WAR MUG WITH QUEEN VICTORIA AND NAPOLEON. Crimean war mug with French and British flags with the profiles of Queen Victoria and Napoleon III. The banner reads ‘God save the Queen - May they ever be united - Vive L’Empereur’. In good condition with strong color and a little age fading to the transfer. Minor expected wear to the rim gilding and a tiny pin prick in the rim glaze. Overall a very nice mug from this period.

FRANCE AND BRITAIN ALONG WITH THE KINGDOM OF SARDINIA AND THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE WENT TO WAR WITH RUSSIA IN THE CRIMEA. THE WAR PRODUCED GREAT PATRIOTISM IN THE BRITISH WHO SAW THE RUSSIANS AS A THREAT TO THE EMPIRE, BUT POPULARITY WANED AS THE DEATH TOLL MOUNTED. BATTLES INCLUDE ALMA AND BALACLAVA (CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE).

c.1916 WORLD WAR I ALLIED UNITY PLATE by W.H.GOSS. An interesting plate with a border of 8 hand colored flags of the allied nations. A center Lion of Flanders (Commemorating the heroic stand of Belgium)surrounded by 'Unity makes Strength'. The rear has the mark of the English maker W.H.Goss and 'Depose - F.B.den Boer Middelburg 1916'. The attached metal wall hanger appears to have been made at the time. Some wear to the center black color otherwise in excellent condition.

GENERAL LORD KITCHENER OF KHARTOUM - BOER WAR - WORLD WAR I. Lord Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916)
A distinguished military career mostly in Africa (Egypt, The Sudan and The Boer War) and served as Secretary of State for War at the outbreak of World War I. In good condition with the usual wear the rim gilding.

1916 GENERAL SMUTS SILK GODFREY PHILLIPS CIGARETTE PANEL FRAMED . GENERAL SMUTS. (1870-1950). Veteran of the Boer War, WWI and WWII. He was twice premier of South Africa. A 9" x 7 1/2" frame containing a Godfrey Phillips Cigarette silk panel from the 1916 Great War Leaders and Celebrites Series. Some light foxing. Back of frame stamped Pieter Oosthuizen.
