International Exhibition of Fine Arts, Industries and Inventions, London. 70mm Prize medal with a bust of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (Later King Edward VII) reverse shows exterior of the Albert Hall. Awarded to and edge inscribed G. A. Gibb catalogue no. 4105. Shows some minor signs of wear see pictures. Produced by the Royal Mint, London. Artist: G Morgan. (George Morgan before he emigrated to the USA in 1876 to work at the Philadelphia mint and there designed the ‘Morgan Dollar’).

A very unusual tin box for the 1929 visit of the Prince of Wales (Later King Edward VIII) to the North East Coast Exhibition in Newcastle-upon Tyne. Good color graphic of the exhibition with inset of the prince in a top hat. Graphic with good minor scratches. Wear to the edges and inside. No dents and the lid fits well. See all pictures.

CRYSTAL PALACE EXHIBITION PLATE. A late 19th/early 20th century china reticulated ribbon plate showing the front view of the Crystal Palace. In good condition.
The Great Exhibition of 1851 was housed in The Crystal Palace which was a cast-iron and glass building originally erected in Hyde Park, London. There were over than 14,000 exhibitors from around the world in the Palace's 990,000 square feet. Designed by Joseph Paxton, the Great Exhibition building was 1,851 feet (564 m) long, with an interior height of 128 feet (39 m). After the exhibition in 1854, the building was moved to an area of Sydenham in South London, (Later called Crystal Palace) where it stood until 1936 when it was destroyed by fire.

1924 BRITISH EMPIRE EXHIBITION MINIATURE PUZZLE JUG. A very unusual puzzle jug for the 1924 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, London. The puzzle is - how do you get the water out of the jug without spilling it? The design is hand finished in enamel. The British Empire contained 58 countries in 1924, and only Gambia and Gibraltar did not take part. It cost £12 million and was the largest exhibition ever staged anywhere in the world - it attracted 27 million visitors. In very good condition no chips cracks or restoration.

The Franco-British exhibition was opened in London on 11 May 1908 by Prince George, Prince of Wales, although it was another month before many of the pavilions were completed for public attendance. (1) The Exhibition opened to the public on 11 June and King Edward VII and the French President . The aim of the Exhibition was "To strengthen the cordial understanding between the French and British peoples".
"By day it is a vision of dazzling whiteness, with its tiled court and plashing cool waters, its pointed arcades and lattice windows. At night it is equally effective with its thousands of lights and the rainbow colours of the cascade". Robert W. Carden, Architectural Review July, 1908. Condition - Front and rear plain end pages have foxing. All other pages are in very good clean condition. Some wear to the corners. On the whole in good condition.

THE CRYSTAL PALACE. A late 19th century china plate made in Germany showing the front view of the Crystal Palace. In good condition with a tiny barely visible chip on the rear inner rim and some age wear to the rim gilding.
The Great Exhibition of 1851 was housed in The Crystal Palace which was a cast-iron and glass building originally erected in Hyde Park, London. There were over than 14,000 exhibitors from around the world in the Palace's 990,000 square feet. Designed by Joseph Paxton, the Great Exhibition building was 1,851 feet (564 m) long, with an interior height of 128 feet (39 m). In 1854 after the exhibition, the building was moved to an area of Sydenham in South London, (Later called Crystal Palace) where it stood until 1936 when it was destroyed by fire. .
